Toilet Paper Roll + Cardboard Rocket Ships

Craft supplies are in demand these days at the stores, but I think we all have plenty of toilet paper rolls and cardboard boxes! This was a quick and easy craft that Aaron got to do with me, and he's so excited that his tiny Buzz Lightyear now has his own rocket ship!

Supplies:

  • toilet paper rolls

  • cardboard

  • hot glue gun

  • paint (I used white, black, and green)

  • paintbrush

  • paint tray or paper plate

  • stickers

Step 1: Cut out your rocket ship base out of cardboard. The cardboard should be long enough for the toilet paper roll to fit + some space in the front for the nose of the rocket. You can make the side wings as wide as you'd like, but be sure to make the bottom part of the wings curved. For the bottom, I used the natural, straight edge of the box.

Step 2: Cut a hole in the toilet paper roll for a toy character to sit in. I pinched the top of the toilet paper roll and cut straight down to start the hole.

Step 3: Paint the toilet paper roll and the cardboard. I painted mine white, and I even painted the white toilet paper roll to make sure the shade of white matched.

Step 4: Once the base coat of paint has dried, use your other colors to add stripes or other decorations!

Step 5: Once all of the paint has dried, hot glue the bottom of the toilet paper roll to the cardboard base.

Step 6: Add stickers or any other embellishments.

I hope you enjoy blasting off into space with these rockets!
