Hello March!! I'm packing up all of my red heart decor and moving on to all of the green shamrocks and rainbows!
This activity was such a fun one with Aaron! Even Olivia got to sit at the table with him and sort the cereal in her own way. I started with a bowl full of Fruit Rounds (the Aldi brand) and set out the small cups for Aaron to sort the colors. He talked his way through the whole sorting process telling himself, "The yellow goes in the yellow. The orange in the orange..." Such good practice!!
Then I gave him the thin twine, with the gold coin already attached in the middle, and showed him how to string the cereal onto the twine. I told him to make a rainbow pattern by following the pattern of the cups. That was just a few short instructions and then he was set to work on this project all on his own!
He proudly wore this necklace around the house for quite awhile and very happily munched on the leftover cereal! This activity ended with one happy toddler and one happy mama!
