Boho Floral Bunny Ears

I'm slowly putting away all of the shamrocks, and I'm excited to start working on Easter crafts! This is my first one, and I think it's going to be my favorite! I had the idea but thought it would be too time-consuming or hard to find all of the supplies. But it turned out to be so quick and easy. We all have some extra time on our hands being quarantined in our homes, and this project definitely brightened my day!

Supplies:

  • Gold wire (found at my local Walmart Supercenter while grocery shopping, since that's the only reason we're getting out of the house these days!)

  • Headband

  • Silk flowers (Also found at Walmart! I loved that it already had a variation of florals and greenery so I didn't have to buy multiple picks.)

  • Hot glue gun

  • Wire cutters

Step 1: Wrap the gold wire a few times around the headband, then add a long loop for the first ear. I grabbed another pair of regular bunny ears from my kids' dress up box to measure out the size and shape of the ears. Then wrap the gold wire a couple of times around the middle of the headband, and add the second long loop. Finish it off by looping it along the headband a couple of times to secure it. Cut it with the wire cutter.

Step 2: Glue down the wire, especially the ends of the wire on each side, so that nothing will be poking your or your child while wearing them.

Step 3: Cut the flowers and greenery off of the pick. Decide how you want the flower arrangement to look before gluing. Once you have your arrangement settled, start gluing by placing the back layers first and then adding the top layers. I started by placing the large flower first, then the dark green leaves in the back, and finally the light green leaves.

And that's it! So quick and easy, but so gorgeous and unique!

As a little note, I think I'll end up saving this pair for me, and I'll make a smaller, daintier one for Olivia. If she were 3 like Aaron, it would be a great size, but since she's only 17 months it overpowers her little face. I'm glad to have an excuse to make another one!
