DIY Sensory Bag - Play & Learn

Writer's picture: The Little ThingsThe Little Things

This idea was inspired by a The Mama Notes! I saw awhile back that she made a sensory play bag for her baby using a ziplock bag and hair gel. I accidentally got my husband the wrong gel recently, so this idea popped into my head to use it up!

Grab some basic hair gel, a ziplock bag, masking tape (I got this teal color from Target), and anything fun you have on hand to add! I had these colored styrofoam balls on hand from the dollar store and some silver glitter. Some other fun ideas to add to the bag:

  • Food coloring - try mixing two colors together!

  • Confetti

  • Jewels

  • Sequins

I liked that the styrofoam balls filled up the space enough to trace letters in it! This activity works perfectly for fun, free play or for Aaron to practice his letters in a new way.
