This was a very special treat for Aaron and Olivia, and I just couldn't resist the gorgeous marbled look of this bark! This galaxy bark is so easy to make, and it adds a stunning touch to any space themed birthday parties. As a warning, though, it should definitely be eaten in small portions by lots of people because of how sweet it is!
Ingredients:
1 bag of black candy melts (I got all three of mine from Michael's)
1 bag of dark blue candy melts
1 bag of light blue candy melts
star sprinkles (mine were Wilton's sprinkles on sale at Michael's from the graduation season)
Directions:
Prep a baking sheet by covering it with aluminum foil.
Follow the instructions on your bag to melt the chips properly. My bag instructed that I put the microwave on half power. I started by microwaving for 1 minute, and then repeated microwaving at 30 seconds until it was fully melted.
Start with the black chips. Melt them and then pour the mixture evenly on the baking sheet.
Then, melt the dark blue chips. I scooped up the dark blue chocolate and poured it on the black in large pools.
Then, mix the dark blue into the black with a butter knife. Be careful to not mix it too much. You want the colors to stand out individually and not turn into a muddy, dark color.
Melt the light blue chips. Pour the mixture onto the baking sheet the same way as the dark blue, with large spoonfuls on certain areas instead of smoothly over the whole thing.
Mix the light blue in, carefully, using a butter knife again. Be sure to not overmix. I scooped up the black from the bottom and brought the color back to the top to make sure it showed enough.
Finally, add the sprinkles on top! Put your baking sheet in the freezer for at least an hour for the bark to harden.
Enjoy!!
