Beach Sand Sensory Bin

It's summer! And who knows at this point if we get to go to the beach this year or not, but at least at home we can play with sand and seashells!

First off, I'm following TheMamaNotes' summer camp ideas, and she's just amazing! You should check out her blog and Instagram page.

I'll be doing a lot of her activities, but I'll inevitably tweak little things here and there, so I figured it's worth posting here on my blog too!

The first activity is this beach sand sensory bin. This one can be used for so many things!

  • Babies & Early Toddlers - Just let them play with the sand, the seashells, the bucket, and the scoop. You can make shapes too in the sand with the bucket and the seashells!

  • Alphabet & Number Practice - The sand is perfect for writing practice, whether it's numbers or letters. I printed out the number sheet from my educational summer pack and added the number cards to the box.

  • Counting & Fine-Motor Skills - To go a step further, I added some tongs to the box, and Aaron will practice picking up the matching number of seashells and putting it into the bucket. He'll see the number, write the number, and count out the number. Great practice all around!
